RodiCare® Hairball

Dietary supplement for dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs

Swallowed hair is generally not digested and is excreted directly. However, in some cases, hair may accumulate in the stomach or intestines, forming hairballs, which can lead to constipation or "fecal balls." Therefore, these animals should be groomed regularly. Sufficient exercise, ample water intake, a diet of high-fiber fresh food, and plenty of hay are all essential for maintaining digestive balance. Avoid sudden changes in diet and always provide fresh water.

RodiCare® Hairball helps animals expel hair and hairballs from their digestive tract. During molting, rabbits often ingest large amounts of hair while grooming themselves. Angora rabbits and guinea pigs face this problem year-round.

Feed Type: Paste, Liquid

Product Features:

  • Added sugar-free
  • Helps animals expel hair from their digestive tract
  • Promotes intestinal motility and helps animals expel swallowed hair
  • Reduces hairball formation

Main Ingredients:

  • Lactulose, pineapple concentrate, vegetable oil, brewer's yeast
  • Psyllium husk
  • Various herbs (peppermint, chamomile, celandine, fennel seed, blackberry leaf, gentian root, rhubarb root, caraway, turmeric) (infusion, extract, or powder)

Psyllium husks contain mucilage and are able hold much more water than their actual weight. The psyllium husks  contained in RodiCare®Hairball are already completely swollen, therefore can ideally coat hairballs.

Fennel, camomile and peppermint soothe and relax the bowels.

RodiCare®Hairball also contains lactulose.

Swallowed hairs are usually excreted undigested. However, in some cases agglomerations of hair can form in the stomach or intestine. This can result in constipation or the formation of what are known as faecal chains. RodiCare® Hairball aids the elimination of hair and hairballs found in the gastrointestinal tract.

Many rabbits ingest hair while grooming, especially during the moulting period. Long-haired rabbits, their partners and long-haired guinea pigs are
affected all year round. These pets should be brushed regularly. Appropriate exercise, sufficient fluid intake, fibre-rich fresh food and enough hay are
important for balanced digestion. Sudden changes of food should be avoided. Sufficient fresh drinking water should always be provided.
